VELO

Replacing two planks for 2 wheels. We like to bike - generally road and gravel. It's been something we have been wanting to do for a while now, so we are starting our "NEW" tours in 2023. Like everything we do, we set our expectations high, test, educate ourselves and plan, so we can be on the bikes with you!

WHAT WE DO

Bespoke

Large groups, small groups, defined routes or support your individual ideas. We are flexible, but our knowledge of great routes is centred around Austria Alps and neighbouring border countries - Bavaria, Sud Tirol/ Northern Italy, Slovenia and into Croatia.

Multi Day Tours & Multi ROUTE DAYS

Whether its more the nomad approach with a different bed each night, or a fixed base for a few days, we offer both. Our home base is close to Austria's highest mountain the Grossglockner, and we have tours that can start from any airport you want to arrive at.

Supported

Support isn't just cars and vans, it's encouragement, well planned and local knowledge. Yes we support with being able to move equipment, sweep up as the days go by, but we are also well organised and know first hand after riding these routes when to go hard and ease off.

oFFICIAL pARTNERS

gLOBAL bIKE fESTIVAL

We are very proud to be partners to the Global Bike Festival in Saalbach Austria 15th - 18th June 2023. An amazing event, where all cycling is taken care of.

GREAT INTRODUCTION ADVENTURE

The key to a great tour is very individual, but we have combined key factors to make this adventure something to remember. The combination of cycling in areas not typically on many cyclists radar, heading south to warmer climates, cycle paths, gravel and tarmac, mountains, sea and some dramatic coast lines, 3 countries with their individual flair, complimentary route incorporating distance, climbing and accessibility to sustenance. All in all, there is nothing better than riding in short sleeves and shorts, with a group of like minded people, taking on the challenge, and also having a holiday element along the way, a coffee in a ski resort one day, and the next sat by the Italian coast watching swimmers and the locals go by!

SOUTHERN AUSTRIA - ZADAR CROATIA

Discipline Gravel/ Touring/ Bike packing - STATS - 4 DAYS on the bike - 460KM - 4400m elevation - Quiet roads, smooth cycle paths & gravel sections

DAY 1

South Carinthia (Noetsch) to Folgiano (North of Trieste). Using the cycle paths following the old railroads, its truly one of the best starts to a tour anyone could wish for. A short climb up to the Italian border, then a steady decline to the final destination. Scenery, coffee and food stops 10 out 10 - 160km/ 700m elevation/6.5 in the saddle at approx 25km/h

DAY2

Folgiano to Opatija (Croatia). Views of the sea as you drop down into Trieste, then the climb through up into Slovenia, really off the beaten track, before the next climb into Croatia. The first 35km is on road, followed by the next 50km away on the gravelled rail paths to re join the tarmac to come to final destination. A good coffee stop before the climbing starts where an agrotourissmo awaits with freshly farmed straight to the table - 125km/1400 elevation/ 6 hours in saddle at approx 20km/h

DAY 3

Opatija to the Island of Rab. A shorter day, rolling day, with medium climbing and the plan to arrive earlier at the destination to be able to enjoy the Croatian waters. Climbing up from Rijeka, you get to see the first glimpses of Krk bridge and before you know it you are onto Krk island following the signs to the car ferry. After we put the main effort in, we get to relax on the ferry for approx 1.5 hours before we reach Rab and the last 20km - 85km/930 elevation/4 hours in the saddle at approx 21km/h

DAY 4

Last day Rab to outskirts of Zadar. 8km to the 1st ferry and a quick hop over to the Croatia mainland, followed by some rolling climbs before descending to the next short ferry and onto the island of Pag. The climbing continues for the next 30km before the decent into Pag town. From there its a rapid 30km towards the Razanac the final destination. This day requires to stay ontop of fluids and replenishing bottles at every opportunity, as we joined Pag, we went through approx 1.5l of water in under 40 mins - we will have a True North vehicle with fluids travelling o along this route!!
